The Egg is currently made up of close to 30 people spread between our 3 main offices of Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shanghai and can perform SEO in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and English.

Managing Director – Richard Mabey
Richard is the founder and managing director of The Egg. Born in the U.K., Richard is a long-term China resident having spent 17 years in the region. He studied Chinese in both Shanghai and Beijing before moving to Hong Kong in 1996, where he worked for Euro RSCG for two years before establishing The Egg. Richard is a regular speaker at events such as Ad-tech and SES and is frequently quoted in publications such as the Chinese version of "Search Engine Marketing" by Andreas Ramos and Maggie Guam. Richard is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the Company.
Senior General Manager – Mike Chan
Mike Chan, Senior General Manager, has worked for The Egg for more than 10 years. He has Master of Science in IT Management from Hong Kong Baptist University and Bachelor of Science in Computing. His main responsibilities include overseeing the Development Team, Product Team and SEO Team in Hong Kong and China on pre-sale, team building and project management work. He is experienced in various project management areas including web application development, flash games development, and website development.
General Manager Shanghai - Daniel Cai
Daniel Cai, joined The Egg as General Manager in Shanghai. He is dedicated to constantly refining business processes as well as providing clients with tailor-made search and social marketing strategies. Prior to joining The Egg, Daniel was the online marketing manager in China at EF English First for 4 years, managing the day-to-day online marketing function. He is experienced in various online marketing activities including search engine marketing, email marketing, online social marketing, affiliate marketing etc. His specialty lies in Search Engine Optimization and Internet Word of Mouth. Daniel is responsible for running the Shanghai office and is heavily involved in developing and implementing both search and social media strategies for The Egg’s clients in China and other Asian countries.
Business Development Manager – Kun Tang
Kun Tang is our Business Development Manager based in China. He has played a pivotal role in developing The Egg's China SEO Team. His responsibilities range from business development to client servicing. Prior to joining The Egg, Kun worked with 21 Communications and Puca Technologies (China) as sales manager developing mobile marketing business. Kun completed his MBA in Germany and has also worked for EarthTV.com in China, a Europe based online video portal.
Business Development Manager – Hiroshi Oyo
Hiroshi is our Business Development Manager based in Hong Kong. He is a native Japanese speaker and has been educated in both Japan and the US, having graduated from Michigan State University. Hiroshi has lived in 5 different countries and has a good knowledge of the unique Japanese search and social media environment.
Project Manager – Vennie So
Vennie is Project Manager for SEO projects for both local Hong Kong and regional customers, specializing in multi-lingual, multi-market projects. Vennie holds a Bachelor of Computing (Honors) in Software Design from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Project Manager - Simon Lesser
Simon is Project Manager for projects in the English market. Working for online marketing agencies in the US prior to joining The Egg’s Hong Kong team, Simon specializes in SEO, PPC advertising, social media, and online marketing strategies. Simon graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, USA with a degree in business management and information systems, later studying Mandarin Chinese at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
